Automatic watch running fast, slow or stopped: what's normal
Updated:
An automatic watch is mechanical, so a few seconds a day is normal: the NH35A is rated at -20 to +40 seconds a day. If it stopped, it almost always just ran down; wind it about 30 turns. Minutes a day usually means magnetism, which a watchmaker fixes in minutes.
It stopped
After about 41 hours unworn the reserve runs out. Wind the crown about 30 turns, set the time, and wear it. See care.
The date changes at noon
The time is set 12 hours out. Move the hands forward 12 hours through one date change, then set the time.
